Joseph Barnard

Artist Statement:


Joseph Barnard is a graduate of Wabash College with a bachelor's degree in biology. He completed his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics at Indiana University. After a successful career as a biomedical scientist, he relearned his old woodturning skills in 2007, joining the Montgomery County Woodturners, for whom he coordinates monthly public library exhibits all over Montgomery County. A member of the American Association of Woodturners, he has shown pieces at the Creative Crafts Council's biennial Strathmore exhibit, in the Delaplaine Arts Center, at the Black Rock Center for The Arts in Germantown, at Glen Echo Park in the Stone Tower, the Popcorn Gallery, and the Glen Echo Labor Day Exhibition. His work is offered each fall at the Woodworkers Club Octoberfest, and is regularly available at the Olney Crafts Market and its annual Holiday Market.
