Artist Statement:
Currently a teaching artist at District Clay Center in Washington, DC, Jill has taught ceramics at all levels for more than 13 years. She continues to maintain a private studio and show her work widely. Before moving back to DC, she was a professional member of The Potters Guild as well as an associate at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia. Jill's primary interest is in creating one-of-a-kind ceramic serving pieces, blending color palettes and textures from the natural world to evoke a user's positive feelings and invite a deeper appreciation for fhe environment. In focusing on functional ceramcis, she finds an inspiring challenge to harmonize the demands of utility with those of imparting a measure of magic to her work.
